#TeachWriteober19
Day #9

I've heard this phrase a thousand times, but I am not exactly sure I know what it means. What I do know is I skipped a day of #TeachWriteober, and I am now posting my Oct. 9 blog on Oct. 10. At a basic level, this means I am playing catch-up. It means I am compliantly writing this lame piece simply to meet an arbitrary goal I've set for myself—write every day during the month of October.
I am clearly a day late, but I'm not so sure the "dollar short" part applies. Perhaps it does if you consider how this silly topic lacks value and depth. When you're a dollar short, I think this means you didn't work hard enough to earn your full pay. Perhaps I didn't write well enough (or frequently enough) to earn a dollar, but who cares? I'm not doing this for monetary gain. I am doing it to remind myself how hard it is to write every day and to put myself in the shoes of kids and teachers who remind me often how tough it is to share ideas with the world.
This blog is done. Sometimes a daily writing habit means you compose crap. I'm okay with that. I hope you are too. 🤗
