Day 7
I recently heard Kylene Beers quip, "If you like your job three out of five days a week, you've got a good job." This made me smile because, for the last eight months, my professional life has felt like an epic roller-coaster ride fulls of peaks and valleys. There have been way too many days that ended in tears. There have also been lots of experiences full of light and hope.
Since today marked the beginning of a new week, I will tally it in the win column. I got to guide the first-grade team at Rann through their Patterns of Power resource kit. My C & I team engaged in the storming-norming-transforming process. I had a collaborative lunch conversation with a principal. And finally, I dug into data seeking solutions to hard problems. These interactions felt meaningful and a sense of purpose permeated each part of the day.
I need more days like this. Maybe this week, I'll hit the three out of five threshold. One can hope!
