This week several people from central services graciously agreed to come to our campus to motivate our 4th grade authors. Our rock-star assistant principal, Robin Brownell, inspired the students on Monday with a pep talk about goal setting, vision, and hard work. Lori Mabry, the district Coordinator of Advanced Academics, led the kids through a revision exercise. On Wednesday, Sandy Brown taught the kids how to write using a problem/solution kernel essay. The enthusiastic Dwight Goodwin promoted BYOD by having the students respond to a thoughtful prompt on Socrative. We wrapped up our week with a published author, Dr. Joan Scott Curtis, who kept the students engaged with her animated storytelling. I am deeply appreciative of each educator who volunteered their time and expertise to help our kiddos reach their academic goals. Denton ISD is a fantastic school district, and I am grateful for the folks with positional power who are willing to return to the teaching trenches. May the odds be ever in our favor next week!

How wonderful for them, as presenters, and yet regular decision makers to connect with the people they will always serve--the teachers and the kids! One can never forget; the direct-connect keeps it real! Great post!
