After growing up on TAAS and ten years of administering TAKS, today I will experience my first round of STAAR.
To be frank, I despise these tests. Dreaded boredom awaits as I monitor my students being tortured by an assessment designed and conceived by mindless bureaucrats who know nothing about educating 21st century learners.
This high stakes, standardized test is a farce. Rebellion stirs below the surface, and my hope is that someday soon parents and teachers can unite to revolt against the archaic, ineffective system harming our children.
