It's language arts textbook adoption time in Texas. This process makes me tired. So many decisions have to be made. So much money will be spent. A kindergarten teacher reminded me today the only resources she needs for a strong readers workshop is engaging books, boatloads of sticky notes, and chart paper for anchor charts. Seems deceptively simple, right? I sure wish selecting instructional materials for literacy didn't have to be so complicated. Perhaps we should all just take John Green's advice. If there are any other Lonestar State educators out there, what words of wisdom can you offer?
